AC installation and replacement in Miami

When your AC has had enough, Yoel tells you whether to repair or replace it. If it is time for a new one, he sizes it to your home, not bigger and not smaller, so it cools evenly and does not waste power.

Home visit and written quote [at no cost]. We install ComfortStar and [other brands]. [Financing, if offered.] License [CAC########].

Repair or replace?

The signs we see in Miami when a system is near the end of its life. If yours shows two or three of them, it is worth getting a quote.

The system is over [12] years old
Why it happensIn Miami the AC runs most of the year, and heat and humidity wear out compressors and coils sooner than elsewhere.
What we recommendWhen a repair costs more than half of a new system, replacing it usually costs less in the long run.
The power bill climbs every summer
Why it happensAn old system, or one low on refrigerant, runs longer to cool the same house.
What we recommendWe compare your system with a new one and show you the difference in running cost.
It runs on R-22, the old Freon
Why it happensR-22 has not been made in the US since 2020, and what is left is expensive.
What we recommendIf it leaks, we recommend replacing the system instead of recharging it.
One room is cold and another is warm
Why it happensA system sized wrong for the house, or ducts that leak or are badly balanced.
What we recommendWe measure the house and the ducts before quoting, so the new system cools evenly.
It keeps breaking down
Why it happensA tired compressor, coil leaks that come back, boards that keep burning out.
What we recommendWe tell you honestly whether repairing it is still worth it.

How an installation goes

From the first visit to a working system, with no surprises on the price.

  1. Visit and measurements

Yoel comes to your home and looks at the current system, the ducts, the electrical panel and the space. He works out what the house needs instead of copying the old unit's size.

  2. Written quote

You get the full price in writing, with the equipment, materials, labor and permit. If there is more than one option, we explain the difference in price and in running cost.

  3. Permit

In Florida, replacing a central AC needs a permit from the city or the county, pulled by the licensed contractor. [Confirm with Yoel that it is included in the quote.]

  4. Installation

We remove the old system, recover the refrigerant as the law requires, install the new one, anchor it for hurricanes and finish the drain with its trap and float switch. Most jobs are done in [one day].

  5. Testing and handover

We check pressures, temperatures and power draw, show you how to use the thermostat and leave the warranty in writing.

Before you replace your AC

The right size matters more than the brand

A system that is too big cools fast but leaves the humidity behind, so the house feels cold and clammy. One that is too small cannot keep up in August. That is why we work out the load from your home, with the square footage, windows, roof and sun, instead of installing a copy of the old unit.

New system, new refrigerant

Since 2025, new home systems use lower-impact refrigerants such as R-454B or R-32 instead of R-410A. If only the condenser is replaced, the air handler has to match it, and replacing both together is almost always the better choice. We explain your case during the visit.

What SEER2 means

SEER2 measures how much cooling a system gives for each unit of electricity. In Florida, most new central systems must reach at least 14.3 SEER2, the federal minimum for the Southeast. A higher SEER2 costs more up front and less every month, and we show you both numbers.

Ready for hurricanes

The condenser sits on a solid, anchored pad, as the Florida Building Code requires. If your system is on the roof or a balcony, we check how it is secured too.

Reference prices

The final price comes in writing after the diagnostic. No surprises at the end.

Brands we install

We install ComfortStar and [other brands Yoel confirms]. We recommend the brand and model that suit your home and budget, not whatever we happen to have in stock.

Questions about installations

How much does it cost to replace a central AC?

It depends on the size of the house, the equipment, and how much ductwork and electrical work it needs. After the visit you get the full price in writing. [Typical range, confirm with Yoel.]

How long does an installation take?

Most system replacements are done in [one day]. If ducts or wiring need work, the quote says so.

Do I need a permit?

Yes. In Florida, replacing a central system needs a permit from the city or the county, pulled by the licensed contractor. [Confirm with Yoel that it is included.]

Can I replace just the condenser?

Sometimes, but with the new refrigerants the air handler usually has to be replaced too so the two match. We tell you what applies to your system during the visit.

What size system do I need?

It is worked out from the house, not from the old unit, using the square footage, windows, attic insulation and how much sun it gets. A system that is too big or too small costs more to run and cools worse.

Do you offer financing?

[To be confirmed with Yoel.]

What happens to the old system?

We take it away. The refrigerant is recovered as the law requires, and the metal goes to recycling.
